Disable Clipboard History on Samsung Android Phone

The default built-in Samsung keyboard maintains a clipboard history which cannot be easily disabled. Importantly, the Samsung keyboard collects clipboard history even if another keyboard is used!

The only way to prevent this is to use another keyboard and disable the keyboard via an ADB shell:

  • To allow an ADB shell, you must enable Developer options in settings by repeatedly tapping the Build number under Settings > About phone > Software information. In the Developer options menu, enable USB debugging.
  • Ensure that Samsung drivers and ADB are installed. Plug in to computer via USB.
  • Run the following commands to disable the Samsung keyboard (works on Samsung A55 w/ Android 14 or 15):
adb devices
adb shell
pm list packages | grep honeyboard
pm disable-user com.samsung.android.honeyboard
  • To re-enable the Samsung Keyboard
adb shell
pm enable com.samsung.android.honeyboard
